We are a company that combines a great number of activities, with the aim of fostering the competitiveness of the shipbuilding sector, facilitating the delivery of construction projects. We are a dynamic force, with a vocation for public-private collaboration, defending the interests of private shipyards both in Spain and in the rest of Europe.
We are committed to the future of the shipbuilding sector from the industrial diversification of the sector towards renewable marine energies, digitalization, sustainability, specialisation and, of course, training.
Pymar offers comprehensive advisory services for obtaining finance and guarantees. Mentoring from start to finish
The shipbuilding sector, through a strategy geared towards greater differentiations, quality and technology, is always adding new, highly qualified talent. Here at Pymar we have established a number of different collaboration agreements through which we help train future generations.
Pymar, together with the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), has formally created the University-Company Chair, with the objective of identifying and developing new technological opportunities that can add competitiveness and differentiation to Spain’s private shipyards through the transfer of knowledge between the University and the Company on a basis of multidisciplinary collaboration.
With this agreement, we also promote specialised training in fields of special interest to the shipbuilding and repair sector. The activity of the Chair is developed across different multidisciplinary research groups within different areas, including:
Through the internships established in collaboration with the Higher Technical School of Naval Engineering of the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) and the University of A Coruña we award grants to final year students so they can complete summer internships at Pymar-member shipyards.
With that, Pymar seeks to attract AND retain talent in the shipyards and promote knowledge of the activity and the practice of the profession.
At the same time, to incentivise students in their preparation for the labour market, we present a number of different awards to students who have excelled in their internships.
Awards for the best summer internship reports.
Through the Agreement signed with the Fundación Marqués de Suanzes, we have developed this initiative to place recent Degree and Master’s graduates in any specialisation from the UPM Higher Technical School of Naval Engineering at Pymar-member shipyards.
